Terms of appointment
Last updated
These terms are demo content for the fictional Pell Varga Architects. Replace them with your own.
Initial consultation
The first consultation, at the studio or by video, is free and lasts about 45 minutes. A visit to your site is part of a feasibility study.
Feasibility study
The feasibility study is a fixed £650, paid when you book. It covers a site visit, the planning and site checks and a short report with two or three options and rough costs. If you appoint us for the project within six months, we take it off the fee. If we cancel, we refund it in full; if you cancel more than seven days before the site visit, so do we.
Appointment
For anything beyond a feasibility study we send a written appointment, based on the RIBA’s standard terms for domestic projects: the services, the stages, the fee and how it is paid. Nothing is agreed until we’ve both signed it.
Fees
Fees are paid stage by stage, invoiced at the end of each stage. Percentage fees are fixed as a sum once the concept design and its cost plan are agreed. Work outside the agreed services is charged at our hourly rate, agreed in advance.
Copyright
We own the copyright in our drawings, and you have a licence to use them to build the project on its site. We may photograph and publish the finished building, never with your address.
